Rumor: Jimmy Smits, Alistair Petrie to Appear in Upcoming Cassian Andor Series
More Rogue One Veterans To Join Disney+ Star Wars Series?
Back in 2016, there was something special in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
The ultimate prequel, the movie was based on just two sentences. Both found in the opening crawl of 1977’s Star Wars: A New Hope:
Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope – Opening Crawl on Disney Video
“Rebel spaceships, striking from a hidden base, have won their first victory against the evil Galactic Empire. During the battle, Rebel spies managed to steal secret plans to the Empire’s ultimate weapon. the DEATH STAR, an armored space station with enough power to destroy an entire planet.”
A Winding Rogue
As a result of its premise, the movie was very well received by fans and even got its own prequel comic book, which explained how an Imperial droid was “adopted” by Andor.
However, even the staunchest Star Wars fan would have predicted a spinoff series based on one of Rogue One’s fallen heroes would come to air.
Enter Cassian Andor
But then, after the amazing success of The Mandalorian Season 1, several Star Wars series remain on the docket. With the unnamed Cassian Andor show continuing to develop, actors continue to be attached to the project.
A new report has surfaced from Bespin Bulletin, stating they have learned both Jimmy Smits and Alistair Petrie are in talks to join the Disney+ Cassian Andor Rogue One prequel series.
Smits would return as Bail Organa, while Petrie returns as General Draven. The two would reunite with their Rogue One co-stars Deigo Luna (Andor), Alan Tudyk (K-2SO), and Genevieve O’Reilly (Mon Mothma). Newcomers to the series In currently unknown roles include Stellan Skarsgard, Denise Gough, and Kyle Soller.
