Will Sabine Wren Appear On The Mandalorian?
Depending on how deeply a fan delves into Star Wars, the name Sabine Wren may (or may not) jog much memory.
However, for the many fanatics who enjoyed the animated series Star Wars Rebels, she is a more-than metaphorical bridge between Star Wars: The Clone Wars and “A New Hope.”
That’s especially true now, as Sabine might actually provide important physical connective tissue to the era of The Mandalorian.
Sabine Rumored to Return to Star Wars
Today, rumors persist about Sabine’s entry into the world of the wildly-popular Disney+ show, The Mandalorian.
Here’s how that could happen:
- Sabine is the daughter of Ursa Wren, who fought alongside fellow Mandalorian warrior Bo-Katan Kryze (the sister of the assassinated Duchess Satine Kryze). During the siege of Mandalore, and thanks to the intervention of Ahsoka Tano and Republic Clones led by Commander Rex, Bo-Katan was victorious; her forces put down an insurrection by Dark Side-devotee Maul.
- Following the fall of Mandalore (and “The Purge” mentioned in The Mandalorian) Sabine Wren left the planet to join the Empire. She defected and returned to Mandalore, where she passed The Darksaber to Bo-Katan in an attempt to reunite the Mandalorian culture under one ruler, Kryze. As we saw in the final moments of the first season of The Mandalorian, The Darksaber is now in possession of Moff Gideon, a post-Empire warlord.
- After the siege and Battle of Lothal – an early Rebel victory against the Empire – where Sabine played a pivotal role, the Mandalorian warrior stayed on Lothal to look after the planet in the place of her presumably fallen comrade, the Lothal-born Jedi Ezra Bridger.
- Previous to the liberation of Lothal, Tano had been lost to the Rebellion in an aftermath of a confrontation with her former master, Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader. However, following the end of the Empire, Tano returned to Lothal to collect Sabine and attempt to learn the fate of Bridger.
That leads us to NOW, when the name Sabine is on the tips of many lips.
Who Said That?
First, there is the rumor that she might actually appear in The Mandalorian.
I’ve been hearing from multiple people that Sabine Wren will also show up in #TheMandalorian Season 2. Most likely accompanying Ahsoka Tano. pic.twitter.com/oOLWuJJiIg

And now there’s another post that says a WWE wrestler may end up in The Mandalorian.
Got my female wrestlers confused, LOL. Sasha Banks has a role in THE MANDALORIAN, so now, the Sabine rumor makes a little more sense. pic.twitter.com/RsUdzOHSeT

Hey, both of the tweeps above are people who make my ears perk up.
But who knows?
To me, it makes sense to see Ahsoka and Sabine (and perhaps Rex) hop to live-action. But I am trying not to get too enamored with my own headcanon. And that was pretty much the subject of my last podcast. Listen in as Robin Vogt of the Brick City Blockade and I talk about the week that was in Star Wars.
