Hannah Montana Star Six Months Sober
Miley Cyrus, the Disney child star from Hannah Montana, says she’s been sober for six months. The 27-year-old singer/songwriter had vocal surgery in November, which initiated her sobriety.

Why Surgery for the Hannah Montana Star?
People.com reported that after being hospitalized in October for tonsillitis, the Miley’s doctor discovered the need for the procedure. After having the vocal cord surgery her recovery required several weeks of silence.

The now sober star, told Marc Malkin of Variety, she has had lots of time for “self-exploration and realization”. Miley said, the recovery “prepared me for the stillness and quietness” of Covid-19 and “forced her into that reflective period.”
Hannah Montana Star’s Biggest Blessing
She said later in the interview that the surgery has been the “biggest blessing.” She has been “sober, sober for six months.” She has also taken this time for some therapy and family history research, which includes addiction and mental health issues. Although she stated that with sobriety at a young age comes, “that stigma that you’re no fun,” which she assured everyone that “Hunny, I know I’m FUN!”
